"Norman Foster. In the 21st Century" - Arquitectura Viva

Con más de cincuenta años de recorrido, la prolífica obra de Norman Foster destaca por su carácter innovador y su compromiso con el medio ambiente. La tercera monografía de AV dedicada al británico —tras los números 38 y 78— recoge cincuenta obras y proyectos desarrollados en el siglo XXI y es la más voluminosa publicada por AV hasta la fecha. Realizada en estrecha colaboración con el arquitecto, la monografía comienza con un extenso artículo en el que Norman Foster repasa sus influencias, y continúa con un texto de Luis Fernández-Galiano. Estructurada en ocho grupos temáticos, la lista de obras incluye algunas tan destacadas como la remodelación de Trafalgar Square en Londres, la biblioteca de la Universidad Libre de Berlín, la torre Hearst en Nueva York, el aeropuerto Internacional de Pekín o el Spaceport America en Nuevo México; además de relevantes proyectos como la bodega Château Margaux en Burdeos, la nueva sede de Apple en Cupertino o las recientes investigaciones sobre la posibilidad de construir asentamientos en la Luna.

Over the course of more than fifty years, the prolific oeuvre of Norman Foster has earned worldwide renown for its innovative approach and environmental commitment. The third AV monograph devoted to the British architect —after issues 38 and 78— gathers fifty works and projects developed in the 21st century, and is the longest AV issue published to date. Produced in close collaboration with the architect, the monograph begins with an extensive essay in which Norman Foster takes stock of this influences, and continues with an article by Luis Fernández-Galiano. Structured in eight thematic groups, the index list includes noteworthy works like the Trafalgar Square Redevelopment in London, the Free University Library in Berlin, Hearst Tower in New York, the Beijing International Airport or Spaceport America in New Mexico, as well as recent projects like Châteaux Margaux in Bordeaux, the new Apple Campus in Cupertino or the recent studies for the construction of lunar settlements.
